The Special Anticorruption Prosecution has completed the investigation of ex-State Fiscal Service head Roman Nasirov’s case, delivering case materials to court, SAP says Nov. 10.
The investigation took three months, a record for Ukraine.
Nasirov’s defense tried to block the investigation, putting up inconsistent demands with the aim of procrastination, SAP says.
March 2, 2017, NABU detectives searched the office of Roman Nasirov revealing evidence on deliberate evasion of tax payments by tycoon Oleksandr Onyshchenko.
Nasirov is charged with embezzling UAH2 billion ($0.07 bn) of state funds.
Nasirov was suspected of efforts to flee Ukraine, citing bad health and the need to go for treatment abroad.
