Island patrol boats have been decommissioned by the US Navy but they are in good working condition.
Ukraine Navy will use Islands for handling underwater terrorists operations and enemy mines to protect Ukrainian ports and naval bases.
The boats can also be used in anti-terrorist operations, like the Naval Defender, run by NATO in the Mediterranean.
The boats will enhance Ukraine’s naval capacity and harmonization with NATO countries.
The United States have launched training programs for Ukrainian seamen, the NAVY’s chief of staff Roman Hladkyj said.
The programs include a 6-month training for Ukrainian cadets, a summer training for cadets at the Annapolis academy and practice on US warships.
