Diplomatic talks to stop Russia’s aggression against Ukraine in Donbas and Crimea will be more effective if Ukraine’s military might is raised, Premier Grojsman said at the session of Canada parliament committee on defense and trade Oct. 31, Ukrinform reports.
“We opt for a diplomatic and legal way to resolve our conflict with Russia but we strongly believe that Ukraine’s military power will be a weighty argument to ensure the withdrawal of the Russian troops,” Grojsman said.
Grojsman highly valued the help Canada is giving to Ukraine in the military sector.
He finally said Canada’s decision to provide high-precision defensive weapons to Ukraine will be very welcome. “Such weapons will be the best deterrent against Russia’s aggression,” the premier said.
