US state department’s special envoy on Ukraine Kurt Volker said Oct. 28 he excludes participation of Russian peacemakers in peace-keeping mission in Donbas, Rada lawmaker Mustafa Nayem writes in Facebook.
For Volker, the peace-keeping mission must be a military, not monitoring, mission operating on the Ukraine-Russia border currently uncontrolled by Kyiv, Mustafa Nayem writes.
Volker expects the Security Council resolution on the peace-keeping mission in Ukraine will be ready by the year-end, with the control of the border being its main issue.
The US envoy also spoke about Northern Stream gas-pumping project,
“It’s a purely political project. There is no political dimension to it as there are other routes for pumping the Russian gas to Europe. The only goal of building a new pipe-line is to punish Ukraine and cut its revenue from gas transit,” Karl Volker said.
