Crimean Tatars leaders to arrive in Kyiv from Turkey

Ilmi Umerov and Ahtem Chijgoz, two Crimean Tatars leaders convicted to 8 and 2 years in jail by the Russian court and extradited to Turkey Oct. 24, are scheduled to fly to Kyiv from Ankara today, Umerov’s daughter writes in Facebook.

Both leaders will hold a press conference on arrival at the Boryspil airport at 20.00.

Refat Chubarov, the head of the Crimean Tatars Mejlis said bot released leaders will live and work in Kyiv.

Putin agreed to extradite the leaders in the wake of the talks with Turkish Pres Erdogan.
