Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko says Mikheil Saakashvili is preparing a coup d’etat in Ukraine, Ukrainian News report Oct. 24.
“The right to peaceful protests does not entail preparing for a coup. A group of 150-200 have proclaimed themselves Ukraine’s only patriots and push for unconditional implementation of their demands,” he said.
The activists protesting outside the Rada are bankrolled from abroad, he added.
That they are set to stage a coup is confirmed by cashes of arms and ammunition recently found by the police, Lutsenko said.
Since Oct. 17, protesters outside the Rada have been demanding the adoption of a new election law, creation of an anti-corruption court and cancellation of the deputy immunity.
