Bulgarian minority supports law on education

“The schools with Ukrainian as a language of instruction have worked in Ukraine for quite some time, in fact, on the terms similar to the provisions of the new law on education.

We understand that the kids must know the state language,” Bulgaria’s Ambassador in Ukraine Krasimir Minchev said, Ukraine’s ministry for education reports Oct. 12.  

Representatives of the Bulgarian minority in oblasts Odesa, Zaporizhya, Kirivihrad and Mykolayiv stress that the sandwich study of Bulgarian and Ukrainian in the primary school (with the predomination of Bulgarian) and the switchover to Ukrainian in secondary school (with the predomination of Ukrainian) is very productive for the study of both languages, Maria Pinti, school manager from the Odesa oblast, said.
