No more special pensions for prosecutors, judges and civil servants, government says

Under the new pension reform law, there will be no more special [high] pensions for top-level officials, deputy minister for social policy Mykola Shambir told Radio Svobosa Oct. 7.

The present high pensions will continue to be paid out. But they won’t be raised until the lower level pensions have reached their size, the official said.

However, the official failed to tell that this process will take many years until the lowest pension of UAH1400 gets even with the fat UAH20,000 pension of a judge.
