Pres Poroshenko must dismiss Zakarpatya Governor Hennadi Moskal for anti-Ukrainian ethnic policy, ZIK reports Sept. 22.
Moskal said recently that the law on mandatory education in Ukrainian in all parts of the country violates the rights of 150,000-strong Hungarian minority in Zakarpattya.
The anti-Ukrainian policy pursued by Moskal endangers Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Tomenko said.
The recent voting by Zakarpattya oblast legislature was supported by Moskal at the head of the BPP party led by Poroshenko, ex-Regionals and lawmakers representing Hungarian parties. This cannot be ignored by the prosecution, Tomenko said.
According to the 2001 census, there were 80.5% of Ukrainians, 12.1% of Hungarians, 2.6% of Romanians in the oblast, Tomenko said.
The wooing by Moskal of pro-Hungarian feelings must be stopped and oblast legislature re-elected in new elections.
