A record number of Jews from all over the world, 40,000, is expected to come to Ukraine to mark the Jewish New Year. They will flock to Uman, a city near Kyiv, where the tomb of their religious leader Tsadik Nahman is.
70% of the Jews will enter Ukraine via Kyiv’s Boryspil and Zhulyany airports.
Ihal is a businessman from Jerusalem. This is his 10th trip to Ukraine. He took his grandsons with him.
The pilgrims’ security will be jointly guarded by Ukrainian and Israeli police.
The festivities start on Sept. 20 and end last two days.
