The appointment of a new and incorrupt head of the Ukraine Sea Ports Administration has already saved UAH500 mn ($20 mn) for the budget, Minister for Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan said, speaking on ZIK TV late Sept. 14.
USPA was absolutely affected by corruption. The appointment of a new head is expected to stop the graft, the minister said.
The recent 2 tenders held by the new administration have already saved UAH500 mn, he said.
The head of the Odesa port was also dismissed, Omelyan said.
The ministry and prosecution is now pressing charges against the corrupt officials, Omelyan confirmed.
