The number of arrests of persons presumably absolutely loyal to the present regime has increased. It indicates that the Wests’ sanctions are beginning to act and the Putin’s regime end is round the corner, says Russia’s influential opposition member Konstantin Borovoi, Dialog reports Aug. 24.
“The sanctions imposed by the West are beginning to take radical effect on Russia’s economy and Kremlin insiders,”| he said.
The sanctions have intensified the competition among insiders’ groups for the country’s dwindling resources.
The situation is going to deteriorate. Putin will try to concentrate his power and suppress democracy and the institutions of the civil society, Borovoi assumes.
This will indicate the final stage of his regime existence, the opposition politician says.
