Prosecutors have charged the head of the Volyn customs, Viktor Kryvitsky, with unlawful enrichment, ZIK reports Aug. 21. The court banned the official to leave the oblast territory ahead of the trial.
Prosecutors say Kryvitsky extorted bribes worth UAH300,000 ($12,000).
The prosecutors were able to catch the bribe-taker after two customs officers under his command had received bribes of marked banknotes. Later the banknotes were found in Kryvitsky’s office.
