As the residents of Donbas territories occupied by separatists are becoming more pro-Ukrainian, it marks a watershed for mainland Ukraine, pollster Iryna Bekeshkina claims, writing in Novy chas Aug. 13.
The attitude of Donbas residents have been gauged by Ukrainian pollsters. Three years ago about 35% of Donbas residents did not want to be a part of Ukraine.
Now, their number has dwindled to a mere 5%, she says.
The growing pro-Ukrainian feelings give reasons for optimistic assessments. However, the major threat is poised by the Russian brainwashing in Eastern Ukraine, she says.
