Justice minister explains why Ukraine must sue Stalin and Beria

Ukraine’s Justice Minister Pavel Petrenko says the criminal case against Stalin and his henchman Beria would restore historical justice, Interfax-Ukrayina reports May 19.

The Ukrainian allows opening criminal cases against the deceased in order to rehabilitate their victims, especially in the case of mass crimes, the official said. 

May 18, on the day 180,000 Crimea Tatars were resettled overnight in 1944 on orders from Stalin, prosecutors issued summons to appear in court to Stalin and Beria.
