Nearly all key employees of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption are members of the People’s Front, the party headed by ex-premier Arseny Yatseniuk. That is why they open investigations into the allegedly illegal funding of only 2 parties – Trymoshenko-led Batkivshchyna (Homeland) and Lviv Mayor Sadovy-led Samopomich (Self-Support), Tyumoshenko said, speaking on ZIK TV May 11.
“NAPC today is not fighting corruption. It is lobbying the interests of Yatseniuk,” she said.
The leader of Batkivshchyna also lashed out at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, claiming the bureau didn’t come up to expectations.
She accused NABU of failing to react to her memorandum in which she said the UAH455 bn worth of securities and bonds confiscated from bankrupt banks were later devalued to UAH90 bn, with the Central Bank eventually planning to sell them at merely UAH9 bn, Tymoshenko said.
As a result, Tymoshenko demands a criminal probe by NABU against Central Bank governor Valeria Hontareva.
