Russia resettling ethnic minorities from Siberia to Crimea

Moscow is trying to replace Ukrainian and Crimea Tatars population on the peninsular with ethnic minorities from Siberia, Rada lawmaker Iryna Friz said, addressing a session of Ukraine-NATO antiparliamentary council in Kyiv Apr. 5, reported.

The Russian authorities are resettling Mordvas and Buryatias to Dzhankoi in Crimea, she said.

The lawmaker referred to art. 49 of the Geneva Convention banning Russia to resettle civilians to the occupied territories.
