The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine is checking the legality of spending the money for refinancing commercial banks and the role of the Central Bank governors as the losses of Ukraine amount to billions of hryvnyas, NACB head Artem Sytnyk said, speaking on 1+1 TV late Apr. 2, Ukrayinska Pravda reported.
“We have been running a criminal probe involving CB top managers in the refinancing fraud,” he said.
“The bulk of the money allocated for refinancing has been transferred either to off-shore companies of foreign banks accounts,” Sytnyk said.
March 29, NACB searched the offices of CB and arrested documents.
