High-ranking president’s office official buys mansion for chicken feed

The wife of Vitali Kovalchuk, first deputy head of Poroshenko’s office bought two land sites and a mansion in Kyiv worth UAH130 mn ($4.8 mn) for miserable UAH78,000 ($2.800), Shemy anti-corruption project journalists report March 31.

The land and 848-square meter mansion belonged to businessman Vadym Bloshko.

The property was mortgaged by the businessman to the Forum Bank.
Soon the bank went bankrupt.

The property finally found its way, via dubious court rulings, to a company owned by Kovalchuk’s wife, Olena.
