“Commander of the Somali rebel battalion Mikhail Tolstykh, aka Givi, was killed Feb. 8 when a bomb exploded in his office,” a source told Russia's Interfax.
The source put the blame on Ukrainian secret services.
The bomb went off at 06:12 local time.
Rebel investigators have linked Givi’s murder with the death of Arsen Pavlov, aka Motorola, pointing to the similarities of both accidents.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian analysts explain recent deaths of a number of rebel leaders by Moscow’s attempt to cleanse Donbas of compromised separatist commanders and get rid of vital witnesses.
