Ukrainian schoolchildren have been issued 160 patents for their inventions, Ukraine’s Minister for Education Liliya Hrynevych said at the Jan. 23-25 world education forum in London, ZIK reports Jan. 25.
There is an extra-school system of education in Ukraine, named the Small Academy. It is attended by about 10% of schoolchildren, doing research in computer science, engineering, natural sciences, physics and astronomy, the minister said.
The Small Academy is a unique tool for targeting young talent in Ukraine, she added.
With the enrollment of 250,000, the SA has its laboratories or uses university labs.
In order to give every schoolchild a bigger chance to develop his/her talents, the system of secondary education must be revised, Liliya Hrynevych added.
