Local government officials from one of Poland’s eastern border regions [Pidkarpatske vojevodstvo] came to Ternopil to share their experience on forming a territorial community. In the years of its existence, the Poles managed to attract 40 billion euros in foreign investments, Ternopil Governor Stepan Barna said, opening the forum Nov. 30.
The forum was attended by heads of Ternopil oblast local territorial communities.
“The decentralization in Poland began 25 years ago. And now we can say that the transfer of power to local communities intensified local development,” vice head of the vojevodstvo Maria Kurowska said, ZIK reports.
Participants of the forum discussed the administrative reform, links among small Polish communities and future cooperation with Ternopil communities.
