Activists in Poltava initiated collection of clothes and footwear for the homeless, installing containers for donations near the city trade centers, ZIK reports Nov. 2.
The organizers were surprised by the response. While they planned to empty the containers once in a fortnight, the containers were full after 3 days.
Now the organizers are thinking to install additional containers to meet the needs of their less successful citizens.
“We were greatly impressed by the generosity of Poltava residents,” head of the Poltava center for the adaptation of homeless Olena Chykurova says.
