Head of Ukraine’s delegation at PACE and BPP lawmaker Volodymyr Arjev believes the West’s pressure on Russia and economic sanctions must continue to ensure the implementation of agreements reached by the Normandy Four summit in Berlin.
Writing in Facebook Oct. 20 on the heels of the summit, he said, “The results of any talks in any format will be zero until Russia starts to implement the commitments it undertook.”
“The fact that Putin now agrees to accept the things he had earlier waved off (OSCE police mission or the road map for Donbas) indicates that Russia is in low water indeed,” the lawmaker says.
“Therefore, the West’s main task is to maintain the sanctions against the Russian regime. Otherwise, the words won’t turn into deeds, since, as a true KGB officer, Putin is a pathological liar,” Arjev added.
