Premier Volodymyr Grojsman accused ex-Premier Yulia Tymoshenko of lining her pockets via illegal gas dealings in the 90’s.
Grojsman voiced the accusation during his press conference in Verkhovna Rada on Friday, Ukrayinska Pravda reports.
According to the premier, Rada’s platform was blocked by those political forces which are eager to reinstate corrupt schemes in gas trade [one of them was Tymoshenko-led Batkivshchyna – Ed.].
Recalling Tymoshenko’s notorious gas contract with Russia back in 1997, when the price for 1,000 cu. m of the Russian gas rose sky-high from $50 to $450, Grojsman said the deal enriched corrupt officials by $2-3 billion yearly.
This is not the first premier’s jab at Tymoshenko. Earlier Grojsman repeatedly criticized the contract, saying that Yulia Tymoshenko personally financially gained from it.
