Poland’s reformist ex-finance minister Leszek Balcerowicz and now Pres Poroshenko’s representative in the cabinet, says the state-owned Ukrainian companies are to be restructured and then privatized.
Currently, there are some 1,500 state companies, some of them working badly and some idle, Balcerowizc told the DPA agency Apr. 25.
The Polish expert explained why he came to work in Ukraine. Ukraine is a strategically important country for the EU.
The success of Ukraine is crucial for Poland and other countries of Europe’s eastern region, he said.
