Schoolchildren from Tulychiv, Poland, collected Christmas gifts for their Ukrainian counterparts whose parents served in the Ukrainian army in Donbas, ZIK reports Dec. 23.
The gifts, sweets, stationary, and toys, were handed over to Ukrainians at the Polish-Ukrainian border today.
Ukrainian children whose parents served in Donbas were invited this summer to spend several weeks in Poland. They were offered tours of the country and attended various cultural events, Poland’s border guard, Col. Piotr Patla, says.
When the Tulych schoolchildren learned about this, they decided to take part in fostering friendship with their Ukrainian counterparts – and began to collect Christmas gifts.
