The posh country residence of ex-president Viktor Yanukovych is to become a rehabilitation center for Ukraine army Donbas veterans, Pres Petro Poroshenko said, addressing a meeting with the East Operational Command staff, Ukrinform reports Oct. 13.
“I submitted my proposal to the cabinet to make the residence property of the defense ministry to convert it into an army health center for Donbas veterans. It will be a small step to restore justice in Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.
The residence, Mezhyhirya, is located 30km off Kyiv. It has a beach, a zoo, a winter swimming pool. The residence occupies a large territory in a pine wood.
