Donbas toll: 6,500 dead, 16,000 wounded – UN report

About 6,500 persons, both military and civilians, have been killed and 16,000 wounded in the military conflict in eastern Ukraine, UN says.

 “Access to territories controlled by the rebels remains a serious problem complicating the delivery of humanitarian assistance there, UN report continues, Radio Svoboda says June 29. 

The number of registered refugees in mainland Ukraine has reached 1.3 million, giving Ukraine the 9th position for the number of internally displaced persons in the world.

As water supply in the rebel-held territories is inadequate, the risks of related diseases are rising, especially in summer UN warns.
