No turf battles between SBU and PGO, Sakvarelidze says

The summons to SBU chief Valentyn Nalyvajchenko to testify do not mean there is a confrontation between SBU and Prosecutor General’s Office, first PGO deputy head David Sakvarelidze told journalists June 14, Ukrayinska pravda reports.

Recall that Nalyvajchenko made a high-profile announcement June 12 about the alleged involvement of PGO ex-deputy head Anatoly Danylenko in the “BRSM-Nafta” company suspected of producing counterfeit gasoline at its huge refinery and oil depot in Vasylkiv near Kyiv.

PGO was angered by Nalyvajcheko’s going public, saying it was its prerogative to investigate the corrupt schemes at BRSM-Nafta, analysts say.

Nalyvajchenko accused Danylenko of covering up for the corrupt company of which he later became one of the owners.
