EU wavering over sanctions against Russia

EU Council head Donald Tusk, admits it is difficult to preserve the united position of EU members on sanctions against Russia, Voice of America reports March 20.

 “It is more and more difficult to retain a consensus in the EU on whether the present tough sanctions should be maintained,” Tusk said.

According to anonymous sources, a half or even more EU memnbers are opting to soften the sanctions, while more determined states want to keep the sanctions until the MInsk agreements are fulfilled,.

European Parliament head Martin Schultz declared that the sanctions against Russia must be continued.
