Kharkiv on red alert after terrorist blast that killed or wounded several demonstrators and police

The Kharkiv authorities declared a red alert following a blast during today’s demonstration to commemorate the victims of Maidan revolution and Donbas, NSDC head Oleksandr Turchynov said Feb. 22, Ukrayinska Pravda reports.

One demonstrator and one police officer was killed and 9 wounded in a guided bomb blast during the peaceful demonstration in Kharkiv.

The security service has already detained 4 suspects and found weapons and explosives, Turchynov later said.

The group of terrorists was trained in Belgorod, Russia by FSB experts, he said.

The terrorist act was masterminded and organized by the same people who started the aggression in Donbas, Turchynov said.
