Ivano-Frankivsk schoolchildren donate socks to army

Schoolchildren in Ivano-Frankivsk wove woolen socks and gave them to the servicemen due to be sent to Donbas, our correspondent reports Nov. 26.

The campaign to weave socks for the servicemen kicked off at School 28 in October, activist Nelya Kolomiets says.

In addition to helping the servicemen, we had another goal – to raise the kids’ patriotism as they could only read about Ukrainian patriots in their books.

Year one schoolchildren had woven 33 pairs of socks, with another 150 on the way, she said.
