A radical reform of the highly corrupt road police will start in Khmelnytsky, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said Nov. 18, writing in Facebook.

“The new road police will have new patrol vehicles and equipment. It will have entirely new functions.

Car registration procedure has been simplified. Traffic in the city will be monitored electronically,” the minister said.

The pilot project starts as of January. Then, the reform will be implemented in Kyiv and all over Ukraine, Avakov said.

The reform is based on foreign experience, the official stressed.
