A massive march of city residents took place in Ivano-Frankivsk to mark the 72-nd anniversary of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, our correspondent reports Oct. 14.
The march was joined by groups of UPA veterans. Also participating were military cadets, NGOs and students.
UPA fighters, who fought both Nazis and Communists, serve as an unforgettable example for Ukrainian youths, participants said.
Oct. 14 is the day of Holy Mother’s protecting veil. On this day, Western Ukrainians formed the UPA.
Similar marches were held in West Ukraine’s oblast capitals Lviv, Ternopil and Lutsk.
