Donbas terrorists demand ransom for POWs

Donbas terrorists are calling the relatives of Ukraine army POWs and demanding ransom, Ukrainian Center for Locating POWs head Ala Borysenko said in Ternopil Sept. 26.

There are cases when desperate families agree and send ransom money to terrorists, Borysenko said.

If a ransom call comes, the Ternopil-based center’s staff advises the families to double-check by asking the terrorists to give the phone to their imprisoned relative or by asking the POW to give the names of his grandparents.

The terrorists get hold of the POWs names and phones of their family members from the ads posted by the family in the media.
