Russian troops assume control of Kerch ferry crossing

As Russia military seize the ferry crossing in Kerch, there are fears that Putin will send more troops into Crimea, AP reports March 3.

Russian soldiers occupied the ferry crossing terminal in the morning.  They refuse to identify themselves but their vehicles have Russian army number plates.

Pressure on Ukraine troops is mounting. The Russians want them to surrender weapons and withdraw from their barracks and positions.

In some cases, the Russian destroy communication equipment, incapacitating the units.

In one case, the Russians used sound/flash grenades to overpower Ukraine border guards, the Border Guards Troops website reports.
