If within the nearest hours the regime does not free the protesters detained in Cherkasy, it will be done by the Ukrainian people, deputy head of Kyiv’s resistance staff lawmaker Serhy Pashynsky told journalists Jan. 26.
The interior ministry’s official statistics alone give the number of detained protesters in Kyiv at 118 and in Cherkasy at 58, he said.
Pashynsky reminded that the presidential administration had promised to release the detainees as of today.
The lawmaker warned Cherkasy governor and Yanukovych that they have a couple of hours left.
According to Pashynsky, a large column of AutoMaidan protesters and Cherkasy activists is being formed to march on the police prison.
