Lviv students prevent Svoboda leader from addressing 20,000-strong rally

Student organizers of the massive European integration rally in Lviv tried to stop Svoboda leader Yury Mykhalchyshyn from addressing the protesters, Varianty reports Nov. 24.

The students insisted that the rally was a civic, not a political, event and tried to prevent Svoboda from getting to the microphone.

However, Svoboda members managed to force the students away from the microphone and Yu. Mykhalchyshyn was able to begin to speak.

He called students green-horns, something which caused their indignation. Finally, the students interrupted the speaker and banished him from the podium.
