Itinerary of festivities to mark UPA 71st anniversary in Lviv

Oct. 11, 13 and 14 will see festivities to mark the 71th anniversary of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, UPA, our correspondent reports.

Oct. 11, the first showing of “The History of a Shelter” film will be held depicting the life in an underground WWII shelter of UPA fighters who fought both German and Soviet occupants.
UPA veterans and representatives of nationalist NGOs will take part in a glory march for UPA fighters on Oct. 13.
A recreation of an engagement between UPA and German units will be staged by members of the military history club.
Oct. 14 will begin with the laying of flowers at the Unknown UPA Fighter tomb and monuments to UPA leaders Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych.
A commemoration service will be held at the Peter and Paul garrison church.
A commemoration session will be held in of the Lviv oblast council hall.
