The European Court ruling to free Yulia Tymoshenko after July 30 will be valid if no appeals are submitted by the Ukrainian prosecution. In this case, the European Court will consider the appeal, Tymoshenko’s defense lawyer Serhy Vlasenko said July 17.
Many EU countries and the USA have called on the Ukrainian government to abide by the EC ruling, ZN.UA reports July 17.
The human rights court in Strasburg said Yulia Tymoshenko’s arrest was politically motivated and her human rights were violated during litigation. All this is a violation of art. 18 of the European Convention.
