Vitali Haiduk, former high-ranking official and businessman, called as a witness in the Yevhen Shcherban murder case in which Yulia Tymoshenko is accused of conspiring to kill the businessman, said he had no evidence of Tymoshenko’s complicity or guilt, Ukrayinska Pravda reported Apr. 16.
Haiduk disagreed with Serhy Taruta, saying “The conflict was not at the level of Taruta. The conflict was between Governor Shcherban and Premier Lazarenko.”
Asked about the relationships between Shcherban and Lazarenko, Haiduk dismissed any knowledge of them.
Haiduk could not throw any light on whether Lazarenko or Tymoshenko threatened Shcherban, saying they communicated on a different level.
