Lutsenko to take his case to European Court

Following the ruling by the Supreme specialized court which waved off Yury Lutsenko’s appeal against the 4-year prison term sentence for apparently minor offence, the leader of the Ukrainian opposition will now take his case to the European Court for Human rights, Radio Svoboda reports Apr. 3.

As interior minister in the Tymoshenko cabinet, Lutsenko had been charged with overspending state funds for the party to mark the day of police and for allocating an apartment to his driver.
