Vitali Klitschko: verdict to Lutsenko kisses justice goodbye
Speaking outside the Pechersk court Feb. 27, the leader of the UDAR party, Vitali Klitschko, said the ignoble court ruling kissed the justice in Ukraine goodbye, UDAR’s website quotes him as saying.
Klitschko came to the court to support Yury Lutsenko.
The ruling indicates that Ukraine is sliding toward authoritarian rule, Klitschko said.
“I have earlier said that the cases against Yulia Tymoshenko and Yury Lutsenko are politically motivated,” he added.
Klitschko believes the world has again seen the true anti-democratic face of the current regime when human rights are ignored and justice is selective.
Feb. 27, the court sentenced Yury Lutsenko to a 4-year term in jail and confiscated his property.
