Yury Lutsenko’s wife describes his cell conditions
Speaking to Dzerkalo Tyzhnya Jan. 4, Iryna, the ex-interior minister’s wife, said Yury Lutsenko is kept in a 3-bed cell. It’s a 9-square meter cell, allowing to take 3 steps forward or backward. There is a highly place grated window, ordinary iron beds, an isolated latrine, an old rusty and broken washstand, walls painted with oil paint and a concrete floor, Iryna said. The comfort leaves much to be desired, she said, but you cannot expect the authorities to make the cell more comfortable – after all, it’s been used by inmates serving life sentences, Iryna added. “The only good thing is that it’s not a 20-bed or 40-bed cell,” Iryna said.
