De-Communization of Ukraine: 987 cities renamed, 1,320 monuments to Lenin dismantled

In the course of the sweeping de-Communization campaign in Ukraine 987 cities, villages, 50,000 streets were renamed and 1,320 monuments to Lenin as well as hundreds of monuments related to the totalitarian regime in FSU dismantled or destroyed.

The statistics was given by Verkhovna Rada Speaker Parubij Nov. 11.

 “We have thrown into the political garbage din the symbols of criminal Communist ideology,” he said.

We are witness to the mental de-occupation of Ukrainians. The de-Communization campaign was launched in May 2015.
