NACB decries feet-dragging by courts

Of the 86 cases sent by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecution to courts, rulings have been passed in 23 cases. The courts are delaying the consideration of 26 cases, NACB and SAP say in a joint statement Sept. 11.

In many case courts delay litigation due to the amount of employment of judges, their vacations and no-show of defense lawyers and defendants.

NACB named several successful considerations of its cases against corrupt officials of Ukrhazvydobuvannia, Elektrovantazhmas, State Food and Grain Corporation, Odesa Port Plant.
