The Pechersk court in Kyiv arrested Swiss bank accounts of ex-premier Mykola Azarov’s son Olexy, Public Radio reports Sept. 6.
Prosecutors charged the ex-premier with illegal enrichment. Between Dec. 2012 and Nov. 2014 Olexy Azarov received 7.7 million euros, 600,000 Swiss francs and 500,000 US dollars from unidentified sources, depositing them abroad.
The money deposited in Swiss banks is needed to pay for the damage inflicted to Ukraine, prosecutors say.
Olexy Azarov, now abroad, has been on the wanted list since 2015.
