Writing on Businessua June 20, a Donetsk resident, Mykola Valevsky, says the workers at the once-thriving Styrol company in Donetsk are in miserable conditions. “Many locals go on the bottle. They drink like swine,” Valevsky wrote.
Instead of a salary, his former class mate brought home food rations which can last his family for 3-4 days, Valevsky wrote.
“When I brought the rations home, I was shocked. Then I got a bottle and got drunk. My family live on the pensions of my father and mother,” his class-mate told Valevsky.
The pensions are paid by the Ukrainian government.
