Prosecution brings charges against Oleksandr Yefremov

The former Regions party Rada faction whip, Oleksandr Yefremov, kept in custody for 6 months, was officially charged by prosecutors, Radio Svoboda reports Jan. 4.

Yefremov is accused of heading a conspiracy to violate the territorial integrity of Ukraine by establishing the break-away Luhansk republic.

He is also charged with illegally seizing the assets of the Luhansk Coal Company.

Yefremov denies all the charges against him.
